AR&B has been part of the Bay Area for more than 100 years. Our work is visible in the buildings, infrastructure, and mechanical systems that support the region, but our responsibility does not stop at the jobsite.
We believe strong communities are built through steady effort, practical help, and care for the people around us. As a company rooted in the trades, we understand the value of showing up, doing the work, and supporting others in ways that matter.
Our community focus is centered on three areas: improving food access in the Bay Area, supporting children with limited access to resources and opportunity, and promoting the health, safety, and mental wellness of trade workers.
We also believe in supporting local small businesses, because they help keep our communities strong, active, and connected.
Improving Food Access in the Bay Area
Too many people in the Bay Area face uncertainty around something as basic as their next meal.
AR&B is committed to supporting local organizations and community efforts that help provide meals, groceries, and reliable food access to individuals and families who need support. For us, this work is practical and important: when people have access to food, families are stronger, children are better supported, and communities have a better chance to thrive.
AR&B supports Second Harvest of Silicon Valley, West Valley Community Services, and the San Francisco-Marin Food Bank.

We look for opportunities to support organizations, causes, and local partners doing meaningful work in the areas we care about most. That may include employee volunteer efforts, food drives, local purchasing, charitable giving, community events, or partnerships with organizations already serving the Bay Area.

Children deserve stability, encouragement, and access to the support that helps them grow.
AR&B supports efforts that serve children and families facing barriers to basic resources, education, mentorship, youth development, and safe community spaces. Whether through donations, volunteer efforts, supplies, partnerships, or employee-led initiatives, our goal is to help children feel supported, encouraged, and seen.
AR&B supports various charities with local and international impact. Locally, we are proud to partner with The Family Giving Tree, One Warm Coat, and Toys for Tots.
Trade Worker Mental Health Resources
The trades are demanding. The work is physical, the hours can be long, and the pressure to perform safely and consistently is real.
At AR&B, taking care of trade workers means more than providing proper tools, training, and safety equipment. It also means recognizing the importance of health, fatigue, stress, mental wellness, and the human side of construction work.
We are committed to supporting resources, conversations, and programs that help trade workers take better care of themselves and each other. Strong workers build strong projects, and healthy teams build stronger companies.
Supporting Local Small Businesses
AR&B is a local company with deep roots in the Bay Area. We understand how much small businesses contribute to the character, strength, and economy of our communities.
Whenever possible, we look for ways to support local vendors, manufacturers, makers, restaurants, service providers, and community partners. These businesses create jobs, strengthen neighborhoods, and build the relationships that make the Bay Area unique.
AR&B has been located in Dogpatch for more than 30 years, and we have seen the neighborhood and the city continue to evolve around us. Through that change, we remain proud to be part of the local business community and the economic fabric of San Francisco.
We believe San Francisco is one of the greatest cities in the world, but that does not mean running a business here is easy. That is why we strive to shop local, support small businesses, and work with local partners.
