Fernando joined AR&B in 2023 and leads the company’s safety program. Drawing on a practical construction background, he works across the organization to ensure safety is integrated into how projects are planned, coordinated, and executed in the field.

Fernando’s connection to construction began at an early age, working alongside his father and brothers on his father’s demolition crew. That experience gave him a direct understanding of the physical demands of construction, the pride skilled employees take in their work, and the responsibility leaders have to protect the people performing it.

As Safety Director, Fernando brings that field perspective to hazard prevention, employee training, regulatory compliance, workforce health and wellness, and the continuous improvement of AR&B’s safety practices. He works closely with company leadership, project teams, supervisors, trade partners, and field employees to identify risks early, reinforce clear expectations, and ensure employees have the knowledge and support required to perform their work safely.

Fernando’s approach is grounded in the belief that strong safety performance requires active leadership and personal accountability. He focuses on building a culture in which employees are expected to speak up, protect one another, and address concerns before they become incidents. His leadership helps ensure safety remains an operational priority integrated into AR&B’s daily work rather than a separate administrative function.

Fernando holds the Construction Health and Safety Technician and Safety Trained Supervisor Construction credentials. He attended the University of Central Oklahoma, where he played offensive tackle for the NCAA Division II Bronchos, after previously earning All-Golden Gate Conference and Region II All-California honors.

Outside of work, Fernando enjoys boating, following the San Francisco Giants, and spending time with his wife and three children. He is active in youth sports, whether cheering from the bleachers or coaching third base. True to form, Fernando also brings a safety mindset to the field, helping ensure players use protective equipment properly and supporting injury-prevention practices, with particular attention to reducing head injuries in youth sports.
