Rodolfo Bustos leads AR&B’s engineering and BIM design team, supporting the planning, coordination, and delivery of complex mechanical construction projects throughout San Francisco. He joined AR&B in 2014 as a mechanical engineer and project manager, bringing experience in HVAC design, estimating, commissioning, field testing, and project management.

Rodolfo began his career in air balancing and commissioning, where he gained hands-on experience evaluating system performance in offices, hospitals, laboratories, schools, central plants, and other technically demanding facilities. He later moved into sheet metal project management, managing design-build HVAC projects and coordinating estimating, scheduling, submittals, RFIs, purchasing, subcontractors, and closeout.

Rodolfo earned his mechanical engineering degree from San Francisco State University and became a licensed California Professional Engineer in 2015. He is also a LEED Accredited Professional and has completed advanced HVAC studies through UC Berkeley Extension.

At AR&B, Rodolfo combines that technical and construction experience with a strong interest in practical innovation. He evaluates new technologies and processes that improve communication, identify coordination issues earlier, and reduce risk during jobsite planning and execution. He is especially proud of the local engineers and BIM designers he leads and the team’s ability to translate detailed technical planning into solutions that can be fabricated and installed successfully in the field.

Outside of work, Rodolfo enjoys spending time with his wife and three children, who keep him busy with sports, music, and dance recitals, math lessons, and their family’s recent discovery of drive-in movies. He and his son are on a mission to attend a game at every Major League Baseball ballpark and have visited three so far. His dream vacation is a cross-country road trip with his family in an RV.
